This is Anne... She is an Actual Rolfing Client who is now Pain-Free. She Feels Great... And You Can Too!
Rolfing® is more of a philosophy than a technique. The outcome of the work is to fix your body by bringing it back to it's original blueprint; it's optimal postural and functional alignment.
Rolfing® is a time-tested and proven "10 Session System" that organizes the alignment of the body. THE RESULT IS THAT PAIN FROM INJURIES IS REDUCED AS YOUR POSTURE, BALANCE AND FLEXIBILITY ARE RESTORED.
After 10-Sessions, you can expect less pain, less stress, improved digestion, more restful sleep, better balance, warmer hands and feet and a faster recovery from your injuries and your athletic activities. You will be healed or at least be going in the right direction.
Not doing Rolfing® you can expect ongoing chronic pain that only gets worse and more of the same which is limited and/or temporary results from your common healthcare practitioners.
Not only can Rolfing fix your pain, it is the most effective form of non-surgical treatment for chronic pain, especially when it is combined with Rolf Movement Therapy.
Rolfing reduces joint and body pain, chronically tight muscles, generally resulting from poor posture, physical imbalances, repetitive stress injuries and emotional traumas. Rolfing is used by athletes and active individuals all over the world to rehabilitate injuries, improve healing after surgeries and to restore flexibility and range of motion.
Professional dancers and musicians use Rolfing to heal from repetitive stress injuries and to increase increase comfort during the long hours required for practice and performing.
It has been documented in studies how manufacturing companies have paid employees to have Rolfing to decrease workers’ compensation costs due to repetitive stress injuries. This proactive focus on employee health benefited both the company's bottom line and employee's productivity.
Due to the mind/body connection, past trauma's are more easily released from the physical body during Rolfing sessions. Confidence is restored as the body feels more strong and grounded.
Rolfing is commonly performed as a series of ten (10) sessions. This approach allows the Rolfer to affect the imbalances in a client’s structure in a very effective manner. The series of sessions includes improving support in feet and legs before doing any deep work on the back, head, neck and shoulders. Creating a supportive foundation, is critical if we are to get the desired lasting changes in the back, head, neck and shoulders.
As a the Rolfer works to fix imbalances and improve posture, the internal alignment a body becomes more organized, chronic strain patterns are alleviated, and pain and stress decreases.
Rolfing is different from deep-tissue massage, in that Rolfers are trained to create overall balance and alignment throughout the entire body structure, rather than focusing on areas presenting with tension. A Rolfer knows that the feet are connected to the head, and imbalances in the feet, cause head neck and shoulder problems. A masseuse is trained to work where the pain is, not where the actual source/imbalance/cause of the pain is located.
Rolfing is different than traditional medical care and physical therapy which focuses on the location of the pain, but not the true root cause of the pain. Rolfers go to and address the root cause(s) of the pain and work to rebalance your body and optimize movement which creates deep healing, a lasting reduction in pain and reduces future injuries.
The goal of Rolfing is aimed at improving body alignment. In addition to reducing pain improved Alignment also improves movement and athletic abilities. Better alignment/leverage/posture in the body creates more strength. Better alignment/leverage/posture reduces friction which reduces inflammation, which is the kryptonite of any super athlete.
Through strategic tissue manipulation, movement education and neural reprograming, Rolfers affect body posture and structure over the long-term.
Rolfing creates more efficient muscle use, allows the body to conserve energy, and creates more economical and refined patterns of movement.
Furthermore, Rolfing can speed up injury recovery by reducing pain, stiffness and muscle tension; improving movement and circulation around joints; and attending to both the injury and any secondary pain that may develop from favoring the injury.
As wonderful as Rolfing is, bodywork is often not enough. The body has adapted to imbalances and these habitual patterns of imbalance are locked into the nervous system. That is where Rolfing Movement retraining comes in. The movement retraining helps your body reconnect with optimized movment. In the process of creating better alignment and movement, friction and inflammation decrease so swelling and pain decrease. Injuries heal faster as energy flows more efficiently through the body.
As the body continues to become more organized, chronic strain patterns are alleviated, and pain and stress decreases. Better alignment creates better Alignment in the body which improves strength in the joints which helps prevents injuries. In addition, joint function is improved which allows the joints to perform their job at a much higher level, with less repetitive stress and natural movements for which the joints were designed.
Rolfing can speed up injury recovery by reducing pain, stiffness and muscle tension; improving movement and circulation around joints; and attending to both the injury and any secondary pain that may develop from favoring the injury.
